Description

As a Medical Assistant, you will manage the administrative duties associated with nursing support for youth in out-of-home care. You will help the program ensure youth get their care in a timely manner and that we are meeting their health and well-being needs. You will report to the Senior Director of Nursing and will work onsite.

Responsibilities:

  • Call established providers and arrange for medical appointments in timelines laid out by regulations.

  • Ensure the program has documentation from each medical provider visit.

  • Call insurance companies to request prior authorization for new medications.

  • Assist in tracking and obtaining consent for youth.

  • Make provider visit packets including face sheet, list of current medications, and consent forms.

  • Triage phone calls to the nursing unit and direct them to the proper nurse.

  • Assist in ordering medical supplies.

  • Keep electronic medical records up to date including recording scheduled appointments, results of visits, and provider documentation.

    Requirements and Education:

  • At least six months of experience.

  • Medical Assistant certification.
