Salary Range : $102,600 - $154,000 Annual

The stated pay range is based on a national average location. Actual salary is determined by factors including relevant work experience, skills, and location. This position is bonus-eligible.

CNO Financial Group’s IT Team is hiring a Sr. IT Linux Engineer to deliver high-quality architectural analysis and documentation within a managed services IT model. This role will report to the Director of Infrastructure Architecture. This role will facilitate improved and optimized delivery of proposed solutions, be it projects or enhancements, by identification and documentation of technical and architecture technology requirements to be executed by our third-party partner in a timely, cost-effective, and integrated manner. This role also provides tier 3 support.

As a Sr. IT Linux Engineer , your responsibilities will include:

  • Defining technology roadmaps for Linux technologies

  • Overseeing the vendor-managed run support programs

  • Serving as solution architect within the IT Infrastructure domain: completing high-level architectural approach, detailed architecture documents, low-level design review, and construction review for “build” projects as assigned

  • Further refining and defining the solution architecture practice

  • Engaging Enterprise Architecture to further the architecture competency at CNO

  • Leading projects as assigned to perform initial assessments of platforms and vendors in support of the Infrastructure roadmap

  • Ensuring on-time, within budget, high-quality solutions delivered by our IT technical partners to further enhance business operations, improve efficiencies, and lower cost

The Sr. IT Linux Engineer position is well-suited for you if you:

  • Are knowledgeable of system monitoring and management tools (CA Spectrum, Openview, BSM, uCMDB, SRA)

  • Are proficient in core networking concepts

  • Possess knowledge of DNS and core Data Center components

  • Are experienced with scripting (Bash), expert level

  • Are able to automate and orchestrate Linux administrative tasks.

  • Have experience with RedHat Enterprise Serv deployments in an enterprise environment

  • Have experience with Brocade or Cisco Storage Area Networks

  • Have experience with VMware ESXi, VMware vCenter, and other VMware virtualization products

What you’ll need:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering

  • At least 5 years of experience supporting Linux technologies.

  • Willingness to work Central or Eastern time zone business hours is required.

Associates who live outside of a 60-mile radius of a corporate office (Birmingham, Carmel, Chicago, Orlando, and Milwaukee) may perform this role full-time work from home (WFH) from any US-based location, as long as you are willing to work central or eastern time zone hours.

All associates may be asked to travel to varying corporate offices periodically. Work cannot be performed from outside of the United States.
