Cleveland Clinic Medical Librarian I Document Delivery in Cleveland, Ohio

As a Medical Librarian I, you will play a vital role in supporting caregiver's research and clinical practice. This position provides advanced professional library services in identification, location, retrieval and delivery of relevant information sources such as the selection, development, organization and management of library collections, including in print, non-print or electronic formats. You will also orient, educate and train library users in effective use of appropriate library resources and services. After your onboarding and training period, you can work one day remotely each week.

The ideal future caregiver is someone who:

  • Holds a master's degree in library/Information Science.

  • Has experience in document delivery and interlibrary loans.

  • Has excellent customer service skills.

  • Is helpful and organized.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides basic professional library services. Provides basic reference assistance.

  • Facilitates patrons' choice and use of resources appropriate to their needs.

  • Participates in the organization of various types of library resources for efficient use by patrons.

  • Participates in selection of library resources appropriate for the support of the CCF mission.

  • Assists with coordination of the delivery of needed/requested materials to patrons.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Masters degree in Library/Information Science.

Certifications:

  • None required

Competencies (Complexity of Work):

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Work Experience:

  • 1 year professional experience post-MSLS; medical/life sciences preferred. Internship may substitute.

Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods* Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment* Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information* Ability to lift library materials up to 15 pounds* Ability to move library materials on a cart weighing up to 75 pounds.
**Personal Protective Equipment:**

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $22.85

Maximum hourly: $34.85

A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set, and education.
