U.S. Army Corps of Engineers PROJECT MANAGER in Fort Shafter, Hawaii

Summary About the Position: This position serves as a Formerly Used Defense Sites (FUDS) or National Policy Act (NEPA) Project Manager for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Honolulu District, Environmental Programs Branch. The Branch consists of a multi-disciplinary group of professionals dedicated to project excellence. Our team executes multi-faceted environmental technical work such as FUDs and NEPA, using both our in-house expertise and by contract. Responsibilities Serve as Project Manager/Project Manager Forward responsible for the overall management, control, coordination, and execution of assigned projects. Provide leadership to a multi-disciplined project delivery team with responsibility for assuring that the project stays focused on the customers needs and expectations. Negotiate and integrate all District functions (i.e., planning, design, cost engineering, construction, real estate, contracting, etc.) sponsor/customer needs. Participate in District programming decisions affecting long and short-range courses of action for assigned projects. Provide input to the District operating budget related to projects assigned. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting project management for construction, planning, design, and cost engineering; performing quality assurance; and project management of cost engineering, real estate and contracting. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Compliance Oral Communication Problem Solving Project Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone - no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required..
