Description

The Semel Institute is seeking to hire a full time Laboratory Assistant II. In this role you will be responsible for the following task:

• Assist the PI (Principal Investigator) in performing cryosectioning and immunohistochemisty.

• Assist PI in imaging fixed samples.

• Documenting experimental procedures and results.

• Carrying out routine laboratory caretaking tasks such as preparing solutions and washing glassware.

• other duties as needed.

Pay Range: $21.38 - $25.15 hourly. Qualifications

• Bachelors in Science is preferred.

• Knowledge of UCLA Environmental Health & Safety guidelines.

• Familiarity with standard immunohistochemistry methods is desirable.

• Familiarity with standard lab skills such as making solutions and using a pH meter is preferred.

• Good communication skills and ability to work well with multiple individuals at different skill levels.

• Ability to maintain an organized working area.

• Ability to keep accurate and organized records.

• Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures for handling biohazard and chemical waste.

• Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical software is preferred.
