Minimum Requirements:Research Assistant II- Associate's degree in a related field and one or more years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience. Grade 2Research Assistant III - Bachelor's degree in a related field and one or more years of research experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience. Grade 3Position Description:The Laboratory of Dr. Alex Carll (https://louisville.edu/envirome/research/laboratories/alex-carll-laboratory) in the Center for Cardiometabolic Science, Department of Physiology, and Christina Lee Brown Envirome Institute, has an opening for a Research Assistant II or Research Assistant III. The position will be filled at the level as determined by education, experience, and qualifications of the candidate. This position will assist in cardiovascular toxicology experiments involving biochemical and physiological measures of live rodents and their tissues. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Handle laboratory mice.Acquire physiologic data from mice (e.g., electrocardiograms or blood pressure signals).Conduct animal inhalation exposures to e-cigarette aerosols or air pollutants.Organize, analyze, and summarize large experimental datasets in MS Excel or other data processing software.Perform biochemical/molecular assays (e.g., Western blot, qRTPCR, ELISA).Prepare materials and equipment necessary for laboratory tests.Research literature and help prepare journal articles for submission.
