The Machine Shop Manufacturing Coordinator is responsible and accountable for implementing complex projects within the shop. The Manufacturing Coordinator works closely with internal S3 customers, MAF and SSC Customers, Vendors, and External Contractors to ensure all work assigned to the machine shop is completed to comply with design requirements, specifications, on time and within the assigned budget, with an emphasis on ensuring work is completed safely. Job Duties: Responsible for establishing, coordinating, and tracking Machine Shop procurement packages; Coordinate with Vendors and Buyers to ensure correct information is submitted on Purchase Requests and Purchase Orders to meet project schedule Responsible for coordinating Machine Shop support with other internal organizations (e.g. CPF, Weld Shop, Operations and Maintenance, and Logistics) Assists Machine Shop Supervisor with managing budgets, schedules, scope, contracts, documents, estimates, procedures and controls in support of Machine Shop operations Inspect and take receipt of project materials, gather and kit job materials together allowing for an efficient manufacturing workflow. Serves as best practices/quality resources within own discipline or as technical expert on functional teams or projects Possess a safety mindset that promotes and establishes a positive safety culture within the shop. The ability to recognize unsafe behaviors and conditions In the shop and take the appropriate action to correct those conditions. Attends assigned meetings to cover weekly job progress meetings Possess excellent communication skills and can multitask in a fast paced production environment Works from complicated and complex manufacturing drawings, oral instructions, sketches, engineering data, work orders, shop folders, etc., to determine necessary machining operations and operation sequences. Plans layouts, set ups, sequence of machining operations and devises machining aids. Computes angles, contours, and dimensions not shown on the drawings, using advance shop mathematics. In conjunction with supervision, develops machining strategies, standards for speeds and feeds, cutting tool selection, sequence of operations, holding devices/fixtures and modifications to machine tools as necessary to meet machining requirements. Assists in assigning tasks by matching job requirements to fellow machinists capabilities. Assists in ensuring all calibrated equipment is current and within its calibration date. 9/26/23, 1:16 PM Machine Shop Manufacturing Coordinator - 685006 @ S3 https://s3careers.gnahiring.com/job/685006/machine-shop-manufacturing-coordinator-685006 2/3 Analyzes complex manufacturing drawings to develop and prepare process-part programs for multi-axis machining operations for any type of CNC-controlled machine tool to achieve customer requirements, including Program verification. Performs CNC programming to achieve quality, productivity, performance, cost, and system compliance. Prepares set-up sheets and work instructions for the transfer of data to the appropriate machines. Installs new and revised programs and applies programs on the Shop floor as necessary. Works with shop supervision to re-create, modify or implement any programs, models, or drawings generated from third-party sources. Proficient in GibbsCAM and Bobcad programming software, and be able to draw 2D parts, model 3D parts, program from 2D drawings and 3D models, engineer parts from verbal communication, and use CAD software to complete the task at hand. Maintains and utilizes hand-held/optical measuring devices and calibrated equipment to set up and check work against job specifications. Works with machinists on shop cleanup and other housekeeping duties to maintain FOD awareness and promote a clean and organized work environment. Performs other job responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications: Experience with Material procurement processes (submission, tracking, quality control and receiving of mate ial needed Must be able to read, markup, and create design drawings and specifications used in the shop Familiar with Quality Assurance processes to ensure all parts meet specifications Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Excel preferred Familiarity with business and manufacturing compter systems, including; MAXIMO and Windchill (DDMS) preferred. Technical Degree from a State Accredited Technical College or equivalent work experience. 3 years of experience in precision machine shop operations, must have experience with CNC equipment to include MAZAK or other types of numerically controlled equipment. 2 years of experience in CNC Programming; Proficient in Mazakandtrade; equipment interface hardware and software programming packages. Proven ability to think independently and handle multiple projects through to completion. Able to interface with various levels of personnel in a multi-cultural, team-oriented environment and put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others. Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate certifications where such certifications are a requirement of the job. For jobs requiring operation of motor vehicles, must maintain a valid drivers license. Must be able to physically lift and move material up to 40 lbs. Criticality of Attendance - Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.

Other Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen to obtain a required NASA badge. Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport, or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire).
