SYNCOM SPACE SERVICES LLC Property Administrator in New Orleans, Louisiana

Purpose of the Position

Perform the equipment and disposal management duties within prescribed timeframes and within customer requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for all transactions in the disposal system records including the monthly 1800 account report, annual 623 report and the annual precious metal report. Responsible for having an accurate screening list of excess property prepared within NPDMS.

Responsible for the daily input and maintenance of the NASA Property Disposal Management System and for the accuracy of the data held within.

Responsible for preparing each auction or sealed bid sale listing to assure maximum proceeds are obtained.

Manage the collection, reporting and disposal of scrap materials.

Manage the special handling of items containing precious metals or the raw silver flake prepared by the photo lab.

Provide proper guidance for the security and storage of excess/surplus items to assure maximum reutilization sale potential.

Comply with NASA policy guidelines 4300 concerning disposal of excess property.

Responsible for the SSC Exchange/Sale program along with maintaining an accurate database of the proceeds obtained for reporting to NASA FMO.

Responsible for the proper transacting of the Stevenson-Wydler property, loan and grant property.

Perform the disposal management duties within prescribed time frames and within customer requirements.

All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school graduate or GED equivalent with 4 years experience in accounting and property management.

Computer skills required.

Working Conditions

Physical effort involving able average standing, sitting, walking or detail work.

Occasional risk of injury due to hazards.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Dexterity to operate office equipment as required by the position.

Good organizational and planning skills

Good Communication skills

Ability to pay close attention to detail

Ability to take direction

Ability to work with computers

Ability to work independently but follow specific detailed instructions

Ability to interface with various levels of personnel in a multi-cultural, team- oriented environment

Other Requirements

Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain required NASA badge.

Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport, or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire).

Must have the ability to communicate the English language, both verbally and written, in an effective manner.

Must have, and maintain, a valid drivers license.
