Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team. The Accounting Manager will oversee all aspects of the accounting function within our property management company, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, experience in the property management industry, and a proven track record of leadership and financial management.

responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for multiple properties.

  • Provide regular financial reports and analysis to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and trends.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with property managers to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts for each property.

  • Monitor budget performance and provide insights to optimize financial outcomes and achieve financial goals.

  • Identify variances and trends to inform decision-making and improve financial performance.

  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in invoice processing, payment disbursement, and rent collection.

  • Maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and tenants, addressing any billing or payment inquiries promptly and professionally.

  • Facilitate annual audits and reviews by external auditors, providing necessary documentation and support.

  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.

  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to promote professional growth and development.

  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the accounting team, promoting teamwork, communication, and accountability.

qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting REQUIRED.

  • CPA Preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

  • Experience in the property management industry, with a strong understanding of property accounting principles and practices.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with property management software (e.g., Yardi, MRI) is a plus.

  • Knowledge of relevant accounting standards and regulations (GAAP, IFRS), particularly as they relate to property management.
