JOM provides distribution services for all Janssen Brands of products and is responsible for US and international distribution of finished good product, clinical trial distribution and order processing supporting researched & development initiatives.

The Distribution Capabilities Specialist will oversee operations and supply chain related projects. This position will drive continuous improvement behind Lean/Six Sigma projects; cost improvement projects; operations metrics development, tracking, and solution development; drive development and management of decision tools and models to be used in strategic long-range planning JOM Pharmaceutical Services, Inc.

The Distribution Capabilities Specialist works to help enable strategic capabilities for our two Distribution Sites, Kentucky Distribution Center and Franklin Distribution Center. Decision-making of the specialist will impact the end-to-end supply chain. The specialist will develop solutions to a variety of complex problems while following/creating compliant practices and procedures. The Specialist will create an inclusive environment that fosters a patient first mentality in serving our customers and continuously improving the operation.

Other principal responsibilities include: Establishing priorities, establishing and monitoring department operating budgets, PD P process, develop, rep ort and maintain department measures, GMP compliance, safety process, project initiation and development for continuous improvement, equipment maintenance, participate and/or lead i cross -functional teams, and partner with organizations outside JOM.

The candidate will perform complete analysis of the movement of people, processes, and products, throughout the distribution center, monitor current processes, identify and analyze gaps, and develop process improvements. Gather and analyze data to develop strategic insights and recommendations on key transportation, distribution and process change initiatives. Conduct business analysis of operations data to support process excellence activity, and drive Inventory/Operations scorecards for safety, cost (productivity, headcount, and overtime), quality, inventory, and other metrics.

The Specialist will work with the Warehouse Management System and the Enterprise Resource and Planning (SAP) order entry and invoice systems to extract datasets to evaluate Customer Sales Volumes and impact on distribution activities on both a macro and micro level. Optimizes the location of people and process flow throughout the warehouse and coordinate the efforts with supervisory and management team. Ensures operations team replenishes, and regularly optimizes product picking flow and resources to ensure the highest productivity, while improving quality, ergonomics, and inventory accuracy. Apply statistical methodologies, software, and tools, including JMP or Minitab to conduct statistical analyses.

Deploy systems and tools applying skills in database management, data visualization tools, and spreadsheet analysis to help the organization increase cash flows, inventory turns, customer satisfaction, and associates' productivity. Provide support to all internal and external audits. Engage in process and external benchmarking and assessment of distribution innovation and best practices. Create, review, and update critical operations procedures and work instructions. Interface with applicable internal J&J groups to gather information and provide input on all matters affecting the measurement of operational performance and data. Regularly communicates in all directions to keep associates, peers, and management informed of project status, process changes, and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate in the execution of Strategic Initiatives and projects.

  • Develop and deploy new capabilities for JOM related to: Licensing, Temperature, Systemic, etc.

  • Manage vendor relationships relating to temperature related modalities (coolers, materials, temperature alerts)

  • Work with the End to End Integration team on New Product Introductions

  • Continue the development of a State Licensing Center of Excellence

  • Drive successful obtainment of Distribution goals and metrics including analyzing and identifying trends to lead process improvement opportunities.

  • Lead investigations of all deviations to process and document findings in accordance with Quality Management System.

  • Communicate issues and strategies to Operating Companies and Distribution management, and support marketing initiatives and new product launches for the Pharmaceutical Sector.

  • Form and participate on cross-functional teams that encompass various departments and multi-level members, as well as partner with organizations outside the organization.

Qualifications

Education:

A minimum of Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent University degree is required. Focused study in Business, Analytics, Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics STEM, preferred.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Digital literacy with word processing and data spreadsheet programs

  • The ability to work independently and in group settings, prioritize tasks, and communicate efficiently across multiple vertical levels of management.

  • Office deskwork, requiring sitting, walking, using the phone and computer.

Preferred:

  • Previous Inter, Co-Op, or post graduate experience in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, STEM, and/or related field.

  • Lean Green Belt or Black Belt Certification

  • Experience building reports using business intelligence programs, e.g., PowerBI and/or Tableau.

  • Experience Working in highly regulated industries.

  • Project Management Certification/Experience

  • Validated understanding of enterprise resource platforms and warehouse management systems

Other:

  • Requires up to 10% domestic travel to other sites as needed

  • Must be able to lift at the least 30lbs occasionally.

  • When on the warehouse floor, work requires mainly long periods of walking and standing. May need to bend, stoop, and reach occasionally.
