THERMTECH Press Quench Operator in WAUKESHA, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Description: The Press Quench Operator is responsible for the successful daily operation of the press quench work cell. In this position, you will review the furnace schedules in our Bluestreak ERP system. You will use a forklift to retrieve parts to be processed. The work instructions will give you a description of the needed tooling for installing your presses. After verifying the press has been set up properly, you will load parts into a furnace with an overhead part handling system. You will program and monitor the furnace as the parts are heated. When the parts have completed the heating cycle, you will use the overhead part handling system to unload the hot parts from the furnace and into the press, where they will undergo a two in one pressing and quenching operation. After the press and quench is finished, you will be required to take dimensional measurements of the gear teeth, bore and other areas. You will then prepare the parts for the next thermal operations. You will be processing a variety of parts with different applications, such as gears as small as 3\" or up to as large as 48\". Keeping gears flat within very tight tolerances is the goal we strive for, as other heat treaters find attaining that desired outcome can be difficult to achieve. You will experience new challenges daily and work to achieve desired outcomes as required for each job. As a Press Quench Operator, you will find no two days are alike! Principle Duties & Responsibilities: -Ensure that all tooling is properly stored and organized according to procedures -Setup press quench machines according the work schedule of the cell -Setup reheat furnaces to proper parameters -Run work according the press quench cell schedule -Perform all necessary quality checks for hardness & critical dimensions -Input all necessary part data into Bluestreak system -Track all parts through Bluestreak system during processing -Note any quality concerns that arise during operation via the Bluestreak nonconformance system -Notify maintenance staff for any equipment quality issues -Package parts according to customer requirements -Ensure plant organization and cleanliness Hard Skills: -Understand Bluestreak & Microsoft Office software & use it efficiently -Proficient physical shape- able to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly -Fluent in English (reading & speaking) -Mechanically inclined -Can operate measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other gauging equipment -Competent print reading -Basic math knowledge -Basic computer knowledge -Safety-focused mindset Soft Skills: -Excellent written & verbal communication skills -Excellent time management -Comfortable with a mix of fast pace and slow pace during their day -Comfortable with every day being different- new challenges are to be expected -Attention to detail -Organized -Adaptability -Self-motivated -Able to work collaboratively with others -Customer-focused -Active listener ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Requirements: -All hires are contingent upon a 9-panel hair follicle drug test & background check. -Experience: Prior machining work preferred - previous machining experience and/or tooling/machine set ***** APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Apply Online: https://www.thermtech.net/
